US Assistance for National Army EOD Engineers



Chisinau, November 13, 2013— The United States European Command offered the National Army a number of laptops, as part of a humanitarian assistance project, intended for the EOD service of the National Army. The donation was made today by the Head of the Office of Defense Cooperation of the USA Embassy to Republic of Moldova, Maj. Christopher Rogers, within a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense.

The Chief of Main Staff, Commander of the National Army, Col. Igor Gorgan, thanked the American official for the assistance, specifying that this represents an important support for the engineering system. “The laptops will facilitate the training of National Army EOD engineers and the field work, which is to the benefit of the citizens of Republic of Moldova”, the Chief of Main Staff said.

The Head of the Office of Defense Cooperation of the USA Embassy to Republic of Moldova Maj. Christopher Rogers, stated that the humanitarian assistance project initiated by the US European Command aims at developing the National Army’s capabilities in the EOD and medical system. The military engineers need to be well-trained in order to be able to dispose the ammunitions left on the territory of Republic of Moldova. That’s why we are certain that this technical equipment will be a great support for the Moldovan specialists", the American official said.

The technical equipment consists of laptops, printers, projectors, classroom blackboards for the training of medical and engineer personnel of the National Army.
