Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta Meets New Ambassador of Slovakia to Republic of Moldova

Chisinau, December 3, 2013 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta had a meeting with the Ambassador of Slovakia to Republic of Moldova, Robert Kirnag.

The officials discussed the major issues of the bilateral agenda, including defense cooperation and perspectives of its development.

Vitalie Marinuta informed the Slovak official about the reform processes of the National Army. Marinuta specified that, for the Ministry of Defense, the cooperation with the military contingent in UN-led , as well as the development of strategic documents as the Military Code and the National Military Strategy, that hopefully will be approved soon by the Moldovan Legislative Body, is a priority.

Ambassador Kirnag said that Republic of Moldova can count on Slovakia’s support and experience in the European integration process, and the Slovak Embassy inauguration in Chisinau, in July 2013, will encourage the enhancement of the bilateral cooperation.

At the same time, the Slovak official pointed out his country’s readiness to support the Republic of Moldova’s defense system in terms of assistance and expertise.
