Chisinau, February 28, 2014 — Defense Minister, Vitalie Marinuta, met today with the Chairperson of the Turkish Business Association Board of Directors, Mustafa Ozcan.

The visit agenda focused on the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement in the educational area, signed between the Ministry of Defense and Orizont High School in 2012. According to this document, the servicemembers’ and civil employees’ children will pay only 50% of the fee and the children of servicemembers killed in the line of duty will study for free.

The Minister of Defense stated that Orizont High Schools offer high quality studies, which is demonstrated by pupils’ performance at the national and international competitions where from they come with medals and awards. Also, Vitalie Marinuta thanked the Turkish official for providing servicemembers’ children the opportunity to study in Moldovan-Turkish high schools and for the investment in the Moldovan young generation’s education.

Mustafa Ozcan said that the graduates of Orizont High Schools from our country currently study at famous world universities such as Harvard, Cambridge and Oxford, which proves that these educational institutions have professional teaching staff and effective teaching methods.

Ten children of National Army servicemembers and civil employees study in four Orizont High Schools, in Chisinau.
