Military EOD Engineers Dispose a Bomb
Chisinau, March 11, 2014 — National Army EOD engineers pulled out and disposed on Tuesday, March 11, a bomb, found by the locals in Puhaceni, Anenii Noi. The mine was discovered in the sand quarry of the village during the excavation works. The explosive proved to be a 320 mm fire bomb-launcher bomb.
The EOD team of the Engineer Battalion “Codru”, commanded by Maj. Andrian Efros, concluded that the German explosive device dated back to Second World War. The EOD engineers transported the bomb to a neighboring quarry and destroyed it.
In 2014, the National Army EOD engineers were called in 14 times and destroyed 17 explosive devices in Telenesti, Floresti, Orhei and Stefan Voda districts.
