Valeriu Troenco meets with US Ambassador William Moser
Chisinau, April 25, 2014 — Defense Minister, Valeriu Troenco, met today with the US ambassador to Republic of Moldova, William Moser. The event brought together Commander of the National Army, Col. Igor Gorgan, and the US defense attaché, LTC Brian Stephan.
The officials discussed the bilateral cooperation between the two armies and the perspectives to identify new projects design to expand the defense partnership program.
The Minister of Defense thanked the American official for the support provided to the National Army on behalf of the US Government, through many programs, including in the educational and training area, as well as logistics and renovation of the military facilities.
The US ambassador stated that Republic of Moldova can count on the US Government support for the development of the defense institution by means of some new projects and programs focused on the Moldovan servicemembers’ training and logistics equipment for the National Army units.
The Moldovan-American defense cooperation is based on the Memorandum “Regarding the cooperation in the military area” signed by the Ministry of Defense of Republic of Moldova and the US Department of Defense, on December 4, 1995.
