MPs Visit Chisinau Infantry
Chisinau, June 18, 2014 — The members of the Committee for national security, defense and public order, Alexandru Stoianoglo, Ion Butmalai and Mihai Godea, visited today “Ştefan cel Mare” Brigade, from Chisinau.
The MPs of the Republic of Moldova Parliament, along with Defense Minister, Valeriu Troenco, and the Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, col. Igor Gorgan, discussed the Army’s reform, the military technical equipment and the quality of human resources at the enrollment in the mandatory and contract-based military service. After an exchange of views, the officials highlighted the necessary capabilities of the army to fulfill the constitutional missions and the country’s efforts to support soldiers’ training process.
The officials also inspected military vehicles and equipment. The Minister of Defense was satisfied with the condition of the miltary technical equipment and vehicles and appreciated the performance of soldiers in fulfilling the missions established by the National Army leadership.
The MPs appreciated the maneuvers of the military vehicles of the army and mentioned that the defense budget is planned for the major areas of activity. They also discussed with the servicemembers and conscripts about their military service.
