National Army Servicemembers Study the General Inspection Western Model

Chisinau, July 15, 2014 — “IG Operations Overview” is the subject of the workshop held within July 14-18, at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

The event is conducted by the General Inspection Directorate (GID) in cooperation with American experts from the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG) and aims at making an exchange of experience in the military units inspection and control. The training is also based on methods of countering and investigating corruption cases and frauds, as well as ways of raising transparency in the defense sector.

According to Col. Victor Pirtina, Head of General Inspection Directorate, the workshop provides a good opportunity to reassess and improve the General Inspection Directorate’s activity and identify perspective of assistance for this area.

The quoted source specified that the wrokshop is part of a three-year program of eight actions. At the end, a detailed action plan will be worked out to support the reform process of the General Inspection Directorate and its adjustment to the Western General Inspection System.

The workshop is held in compliance with the 2014 Ministry of Defense and the National Army 2011 Foreign Activity Plan and brings together officers of the General Inspection Directorate of the military institution.
