Land Forces Command Marks Sixth Anniversary



Chisinau, December 24, 2014 — The Land Forces Command of the National Army marked today its sixth anniversary, within a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

Minister Valeriu Troenco congratulated the entire military and civil staff of the Command, appreciating their achievements in daily service throughout this year. “You have demonstrated you are professionals and committed to missions both, inside the country and abroad, where you represented Republic of Moldova, being praised by our foreign partners”, Valeriu Troenco.

The Minister of Defense awarded diplomas of honor to a group of service members and civilians for outstanding achievements in service.

The interim Commander of Land Forces Command, Col. Iurie Bruma, pointed out that in 2014, the Land Forces staff participated in 30 national and international exercises such as Rapid Trident, Mission Readiness Exercise, Combined Endeavor and KFOR Mission. They also renovated military vehicles and disposed ammunition discovered throughout the country. Thus, this year the EOD engineers disposed 1,026 explosive devices, including in the Security Area", Col. Bruma said.

The Land Forces Command was established in December 2008.
