National Army Starts New Military Training Year (video)

CHISINAU, January 15, 2015 — The National Army started the military training year 2015.

According to Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, the military institution’s leadership set two major objectives for this year — to develop the military units’ combat capabilities, as well as to maintain the weapons and vehicles, a project successfully started in 2014.

Brigadier Gen. Gorgan specified that the military training year 2015 started with theoretical sessions and trainings attended by National Army conscripts and service members, in compliance with the yearly training plans.

Today, Minister of Defense Valeriu Troenco and the National Army Commander inspected the activity of units involved in the training process, familiarized with how practical sessions are conducted, and set the current and future missions.

Valeriu Troenco stated that he is satisfied with the way the National Army staff is carrying out the activities of this period. “There are small, but good achievements that prove the professionalism and commitment of the staff. The training in this period is a premise for the future accomplishments in national and international military operations”, said the Minister of Defense.
