The National Army Has a New Council of Honor

CHISINAU, January 27, 2015 — The National Army Council of Honor was voted today within the general assembly of senior officers of the Ministry of Defense, Main Staff, and force commands.

Thus, the service members secretly voted the seven members of the Council that will be led by Col. Vadim Cemirtan, Air Forces Commander.

Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, said that the council members have an important role in the consolidation of military discipline and requested maximum responsibility in their further activity.

According to the Regulation of councils of honor of National Army service members, the councils of honor are advisory bodies of the National Army military units’ commnaders/leaders of Ministry of Defense institutions. The role of the councils is to examine serious violations (breaches) of military discipline committed by service members during the military service, as well as when not on duty.

The Council of honor members are elected for a period of three years and must meet the requirements of the Regulation, such as exemplary conduct, high principles, military experience, moral and professional qualities.
