72 Explosives Neutralized in Orhei

CHISINAU, February 24, 2015 — On Monday, February 23, the National Army EOD engineers neutralized 72 bomb-launchers, caliber 81 mm, of German production, dating back to World War II.

The ammunition was found by a local citizen in the forest of Orhei town.

The mine disposal operation was carried out by the EOD engineers of “Codru” Battalion from Negresti. They destroyed the explosives on site, under maximum security conditions.

Also on Monday, the EOD team of “Dacia” Brigade liquidated an artillery projectile of 152 mm caliber, in Cahul.

In 2014, the National Army EOD engineers destroyed 1,135 explosives throughout the country.
