Signal Unit Servicemembers – 23 Years on Duty

CHISINAU, April 17, 2015 — The Signal Battalion servicemembers celebrated the unit’s 23^rd anniversary during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

Minister Viorel Cibotaru appreciated the responsibility, professionalism, and competency of the Battalion’s soldiers during missions within the unit and the Peacekeeping mixed forces of the Security Zone.

Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, mentioned that, in the latest period, one of the greatest achievement of the Signal Unit was to participate at the restoration and reconditioning of the communication systems and the vehicles of the unit.

During the ceremony, the servicemembers of the Battalion were promoted to higher ranks, received National Army medals and diplomas for service performances.

The Signal Battalion, initially the Independent Signal Regiment, was established on April 17, 1992
