Postgraduate Course on Strategic and Tactical Command– Premiere for National Army

CHISINAU, June 4, 2015 — Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, handed today the graduation certificates of the Postgraduate Course on Strategic and Tactical Command to a group of National Army servicemembers, within a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense.

The Minister of Defense highlighted how important it is for the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” to organize a course of this kind for the first time. The Minister specified that the National Army servicemembers must be trained both on theoretical and practical level according to modern standards.

Thus, said Viorel Cibotaru, the training of forces is a priority for the Ministry of Defense within the reformation process of the National Army, and the strategic and tactical training of servicemembers becomes a current need.

According to Commander (rector) of the Military Academy, Col. Mihail Buclis, the course, was attended by 12 officers of the National Army. The eventwas held from January 19 to May 15.

The source mentioned that the course program was similar to postgraduate strategic and tactical courses, and was based on programs of War Colleges from other partnership countries.

Col. Buclis said that the training process included map exercises and studies, the familiarization with the national territory in terms of military geography and strategy, organization and command of subordinate staff, and methodology of troops daily activities.
