Defense Capacity Building Package for Moldova Has Been Endorsed
CHISINAU, June 25, 2015 — The assistance package “Defense Capacity Building for Republic of Moldova” (DCB) was approved at NATO Meeting of Ministers of Defense held June 24, in Brussels.
State Secretary of Ministry of Defense, Aurel Fondos, said that the package is designed to support Republic of Moldova in increasing its defense and security capacity that would insure a higher level of interoperability with NATO.
Aurel Fondos mentioned that, according to the document, NATO will support the National Army modernization process to make it capable to face the security and defense challenges, as well as the national efforts of participation in UN-led international peacekeeping missions.
Republic of Moldova joined the Defense Capacity Building Initiative within the 2014 NATO Summit in Wales.
