NATO Experts Sum Up Military Education Modernization Achievements
CHISINAU, June 26, 2015 — State Secretary of Ministry of Defense, Aurel Fondos, met today with a group of NATO experts responsible for implementation and evaluation of the Defense Education Enhancement Program (DEEP) in the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF).
The issues discussed during the meeting were the achievements in the military education in Republic of Moldova through DEEP, and cooperation possibilities for this sector.
Aurel Fondos appreciated the cooperation with NATO experts regarding the implementation in our country of new education practices and training of National Army servicemembers. He said that this is a contribution to a high-quality military education in compliance with international standards.
The foreign experts mentioned that, since 2009 when the implementation of DEEP in the Military Academy started, there has been a major progress in the modernization of this institution’s educational system. They specified that the progress is due, first of all, to the professionalism and active involvement of Academy’s specialists, as well as to the high level of interoperability reached in that period.
