Inspection at Balti Military Training Center (video) CHISINAU, July 9, 2015 — Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, and Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, inspected today the readiness of troops, weapons, and military vehicles. The inspection precedes the multinational exercise “Joint Effort 2015”, that will be conducted within July Thus, the National Army leadership checked the 21 training sites arranged on the military ground in Balti. The readiness of servicemembers on fire control, movement on battle field, actions at command post, throwing grenades, and shooting drills with unit’s weapons have been also inspected. The inspection continued at the parking station of combat vehicles, the point of logistics supply, repair and maintenance of weapons and vehicles, first aid training site, as well as on EOD drills. Commander of “Moldova” Brigade, Col. Veaceslav Rusu presented to the National Army leadership the military police company, a unit included for the first time into the 1st Brigade. According to Col. Rusu, the company will ensure the order in the Brigade’s units, the guard and security while escorting the military vehicles from the parking station to shooting positions during the exercise. Viorel Cibotaru appreciated the efforts made by “Moldova” Brigade servicemembers who prepared the training center in order to successfully conduct the multinational exercise “Joint Effort 2015”. “The multinational exercises are very important for the National Army as they ensure the interoperability with other participating contingents and a professional training in compliance with international standards. Thus, it is necessary to plan and organize very well all the aspects that will guarantee the achievement of established goals”, said the Minister of Defense. Also today, Viorel Cibotaru and Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan paid a working visit to the National Army fuel storage base and the Joint-stock company “Raut” from Balti. |
