Tactical Exercise in Cahul (video)

 CHISINAU, July 14, 2015 — About 200 National Army servicemembers participated today in a tactical exercise conducted at the military training center of “Dacia” Brigade from Cahul. The exercise was observed by Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, as well as representatives of the local public authorities from Cahul.

According to Chief of Brigade’s Main Staff, Col. Vitalie Caraman, the agenda included shooting drills with infantry weapons AKM, RPC, AG-7, PKMS, KPVT, and PCT, carried out by soldiers from unit’s scout company. Other activities were the inspection of vehicles from the 31^st Battalion of the Brigade, as well as a march of TAB-71 M, MTLB-AT combat vehicles on a 30 km distance.

The source specified that the tactical exercise aimed to test the capabilities of scout company’s vehicles, to train troops for combat readiness, as well as conduct shooting drills from unit’s weapons.

Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, appreciated the results of the exercise and of the inspection. The Minister mentioned the contribution of National Army and “Dacia” Brigade leaderships, as well as of the subordinate soldiers in maintaining and driving the military vehicles, and in carrying out missions given by commanders. “The exercise proves the professionalism of scout company and 31^st Battalion servicemembers on duty in the south of the country. I am glad to observe a high level of training, and vehicles maintained with maximum responsibility”, stated Viorel Cibotaru.

The demonstrative tactical exercise with shooting drills carried out at Cahul is part of the National Army combat readiness plan for 2015.
