Moldovan Servicemembers in Action at “Sea Breeze 2015”



CHISINAU, September 8, 2015 — The National Army contingent, together with servicemembers from other countries, started the active stage missions of the multinational exercise “Sea Breeze 2015”, held in Ukraine.

Commander of the Moldovan contingent, Maj. Ion Cozma, said that, according to the exercise scenario, the scout platoon of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion will be dislocated on an island during September 8-11. There, the troops will carry out scout missions to find the enemy.

The source mentioned that, during the same period, the scout company of “Dacia” Brigade will conduct mobile and land patrol in the assigned area.

Maj. Ion Cozma added that, before that, the Moldovan servicemembers had been trained by their Ukrainian and American colleagues on loading and unloading military vehicles on and from a ship, crowd control, as well as first aid on the battlefield.

This year, Republic of Moldova participates at “Sea Breeze 2015” with 102 servicemembers and 17 National Army vehicles.

The multinational exercise “Sea Breeze 2015” is held within August 30 — September 12, in Ukraine and brings together servicemembers from 14 countries.
