Moldovan Service Members Participate in a Multinational Exercise in Germany



CHISINAU, February 10, 2016 — A National Army contingent, consisting of an infantry platoon and an EOD team, participates in “Mission Readiness Exercise” (MRE KFOR 21) conducted at the Military training center from Hohenfels, Germany, within February 10-March 2.

According to the Commander of the contingent, LTC Adrian Efros, in this period, the Moldovan service members will attend theoretical and practical sessions, in conformity with a program reflecting the situation in the theater of operations in Kosovo.

“The infantrymen will train for missions at checkpoints, crowd control, and patrol. The Moldovan EOD engineers will have EOD missions of finding and destroying explosive objects”, mentioned LTC Adrian Efros.

“Mission Readiness Exercise” brings together troops from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, the USA, and Hungary and aims to improve skills of soldiers deployed to international peacekeeping operations.

The National Army has participated in military exercises in Germany since 2012.
