“Agile Hunter” Exercise Starts in Balti


CHISINAU, March 7, 2016 — About 130 soldiers from the Republic of Moldova and the USA are participating in the bilateral exercise “Agile Hunter 2016”, within March 6-19, 2016. The event is held at the Military training center of “Moldova” Brigade from Balti.

According to Commander of “Agile Hunter 2016”, Col. Valeriu Chilaru, the exercise aims to train the National Army and American Army units in order to test their interoperability, as well as to exchange experience between soldiers.

The source specified that, for the exercise, the National Army deployed officers and NCOs from “Moldova”, “Stefan cel Mare”, and “Dacia” Brigades, as well as from the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion.

Col. Chilaru mentioned that the participating units will carry out missions on different training sites, including patrol, movement on battlefield, search of routes and other important areas and facilities, and establishment of checkpoints.

“Agile Hunter 2016” exercise is part of a training program that will last about four years.
