US and Moldovan Military Officials Inspect “Agile Hunter 2016”

CHISINAU, March 17, 2016 — Brigadier Gen. Percy G. Hurtado, Deputy Commander — Plans, Policy and Strategy, US European Command and Col. Mihail Buclis, Commander of National Army Land Forces Command, visited today the Military Training Center of “Moldova” Brigade, where they observed the Moldovan-American exercise “Agile Hunter 2016”.

The two military officials inspected elements of joint training of the two armies’ contingents and visited the training sites — for patrol, movement on battlefield, route search, and other important areas and facilities.

Brigadier Gen. Percy G. Hurtado appreciated the organization of “Agile Hunter 2016” exercise, as well as the professionalism of the Moldovan service members and their colleagues from North Carolina National Guard, with whom the National Army has been cooperating since 1996.

“Agile Hunter 2016” is conducted within March 6-19, 2016 and brings together 130 service members from the Republic of Moldova and the USA. The exercise aims to train the two armies’ units in order to test interoperability, as well as to exchange experience between soldiers.

“Agile Hunter 2016” exercise is part of a training program that will last about four years.
