Open Doors Day at the Military Academy
CHISINAU, April 29, 2016 — The Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF) organized an Open Doors Day. The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army General Staff, military students, the institution’s teaching staff, as well as pupils from different regions of the country.
At the event, Deputy Defense Minister Alexandru Cimbriciuc stated that the Open Doors Day is an opportunity for future students and their parents to familiarize with the possibilities offered by this institution to young people from Moldova, its way of functioning, infrastructure, studying and accommodation conditions.
Commander-rector of the MAAF, Col. Iurie Bruma, specified that the Academy is proud of its classes of officers, taught following curricula similar to the ones used in Europe and trained during multinational exercises on the best training centers such as those from Germany or the USA.
During the Open Doors Day, the military students presented wrestling exercises, tactical exercises using vehicles, weapons and communication equipment.
The program also included an exhibition of vehicles, weapons, ammunition, EOD and chemical protection equipment, communications and IT. Also, the visitors were invited to taste some soldier’s porridge. The guests visited the library, canteen, departments, barracks, as well as the Academy’s dormitories.
