Moldovan Soldiers at “Rapid Trident 2016” in Ukraine


CHISINAU, June 27, 2016 — A group of National Army soldiers participate in the exercise “Rapid Trident-2016” conducted at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center (IPSC) in Yavoriv, Ukraine, within June 27 — July 8, 2016.

According to Commander of Land Force Command, Col. Mihail Buclis, this year, the National Army deployed to the exercise four officers from “Dacia” Brigade and the Artillery Unit.

The source specified that the service members will act as staff officers, participating in the planning and organization of missions specific for peacekeeping operations, together with their colleagues from other contingents.

This year, “Rapid Trident-2016” brought together about 2,000 service members from 14 countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Great Britain, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Sweden, the USA, Turkey, and Ukraine.

The National Army has been participating in this exercise since 2007.
