National Army Special Forces at “Junction Strike 16”



CHISINAU, September 7, 2016 — Service members from Special Forces Battalion “Fulger” (SFB) participate in the multinational exercise “Junction Strike 16” held in Romania, within September 5-22.

According to SFB Commander, LTC Veaceslav Balan, the 14 Moldovan officers and NCOs will be deployed to Vatra Dornei, where they will train together with soldiers from other armies on planning, organizing, commanding, and conducting special operations.

Junction Strike 16 is a field training exercise of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) that brings together over 900 soldiers from Georgia, Greece, Great Britain, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Slovenia and the United States of America.

This year, the exercise is conducted simultaneously in Tirgu Mures, Dej, Bistrita, Vatra Dornei, Reghin and Miercurea Ciuc garrisons, on training areas in Jigodin, Valea Urisorului, Beclean, Livezile, Rosu and Rotunda, and on Campia Turzii and Bacau airfields.
