Service Members from KFOR-V Contingent Participate in a Charity March



CHISINAU, October 12, 2016 — The National Army service members deployed to KFOR operation, together with their colleagues from other contingents, participated in an event organized by the Danish soldiers named DANCON (Danish Contingency) March.

The Moldovan officers and NCOs marched 40 kilometers in Novo Selo, Kosovo, carrying 20 kilograms backpacks and the national flag.

The DANCON March from Kosovo brought together 1,100 soldiers from 31 countries that are participating in KFOR operation.

The participation fee was 20 euros. A part of the collected funds will be donated to a local school, while the other part will go to two Danish hospitals, specialized in treating pediatric cancer.

DANCON March is a tradition of the Danish Army dating back to 1972. So far, the march was organized in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, as well as other countries where Danish troops are deployed.
