Military Engineers Destroy 40 Explosive Objects in MarchCHISINAU, April 3, 2017 — In March, the National Army engineers disposed of 40 explosive objects in villages from Anenii Noi, Briceni, Criuleni, Nisporeni, Ocnita, and Stefan-Voda districts. Thus, the engineers of “Codru” Engineer Battalion were called in Plop Stiubei village, Causeni district, where locals found two bomb-launcher bombs of 82 mm caliber and a grenade F-1, during agricultural works. Subsequently, the ammunition was defused. During the same month, the engineers of “Dacia” Brigade from Cahul were called in near Vulcanesti town, where they neutralized three explosive objects — artillery projectiles of 152 mm caliber — dating back to World War II. This year, the National Army engineers disposed of 51 explosive objects throughout the country.
