Artillery Unit Celebrates 25 Years of Activity

CHISINAU, April 20, 2017 — The Artillery Unit of the National Army from Ungheni celebrated today the 25th anniversary.

Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura congratulated the unit’s military and civil staff, appreciated their performances within missions in Moldova and abroad, at international exercises, alongside the partners of the Republic of Moldova.

Deputy Minister Galbura asked the unit’s staff to carry out their service duties with responsibility, in compliance with our country’s laws and regulations. “I encourage you to keep being an example for local community and to be there for the citizens of the central districts in case of need”, said Gheorghe Galbura.

The best artillerymen received National Army medals and merit diplomas during the ceremony.

The event’s program included wrestling exercises, artillery exercises, and an exhibition of military vehicles, weapons, and equipment, as well as a music program performed by bands from Ungheni.

The Artillery Unit was established on April 19, 1992.
