National Security and Defense Postgraduate Course is OverCHISINAU, April 28, 2017 — The graduates of the National Security and Defense Postgraduate Course received today their diplomas during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense. Chief of General Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie handed the diplomas, congratulated the 33 graduates of the course, and appreciated their interest in the security and defense sector. “Today, we need professionals who are able to find the best solutions to the security environment’s new challenges. I am convinced that, together, during the four months of study, you had the opportunity to analyze and identify solutions for the issues that are currently worrying us”, stated Igor Cutie. According to LTC (r) Igor Sofronescu, pro-rector of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” — institution that planned and organized the studies in the national defense and security sector — the course’s program included theoretical sessions on important subjects, such as: geopolitics and geostrategy, national and international security, military-political systems and doctrines, international humanitarian law, military-civil relations. The course participants also visited the military infrastructure. The source mentioned that, during 14 weeks, the educational activities were held by experts of the national and international academic environment, such as PfP Consortium, National Defense University “Carol I” and University “Vasile Goldis” from Romania, OSCE, UN, and EUBAM. Other lecturers were representatives of higher education institutions, centers of analysis and research.
