Moldovan-Romanian Meeting at Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, July 19, 2017 — National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie met with the representatives of Tank Officers’ Club Association “Mures” from Romania.

The National Army Commander informed the 10 reserve service members from Mures, Maramures, and Cluj counties about the current National Army priorities, with a focus on the defense sector reformation, extension and streamline of cooperation with foreign partners, consolidation of social care measures for service members, and increasing participation of Moldova in international peacekeeping operations.

Brigadier Gen. Cutie also mentioned the good military cooperation with the Ministry of National Defense of Romania, the support offered by Romania in training National Army service members in military schools, and the implementation of projects, such as the project on the disposal of pesticides.

The representatives of Tank Officers’ Club Association “Mures” are paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova within July 18-20, 2017.

The visit aims to increase knowledge on our country’s history and culture and includes meetings with the members of veterans’ associations, military and civil officials from the Republic of Moldova.

The Romanian reservists laid flowers at the military cemeteries of Romanian soldiers and visited “Moldova” Brigade from Balti.
