British Official at Ministry of Defense
CHISINAU, November 27, 2017 — Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza met with Director of International Security Policy of the British Ministry of Defense, Nick Gurr.
The officials talked about the regional security, military bilateral cooperation, and opportunities for expanding the Moldovan-British partnership.
Eugen Sturza informed Nick Gurr about the development of the national defense system reformation process. The Minister of Defense thanked the official for the British consultation, expertise, and assistance in drafting strategic documents and for training Moldovan service members within courses organized by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom in Czech Republic and Slovakia. Eugen Sturza also appreciated the support offered by Great Britain to the team of Moldovan military students during the exercise “Cambrian Patrol 2017”. This year, the National Army participated in “Cambrian Patrol” for the first time.
The Director of International Security Policy of the British Ministry of Defense expressed the availability of his country to continue to support the Ministry of Defense in the security and defense sector.
The Moldovan-British defense cooperation started in 1999.
