Minister of Defense Inspects Two Military Units (video)

CHISINAU, December 27, 2017 — Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza inspected two National Army units within an unannounced visit conducted during the night of December 27, 2017.

The actions aimed to assess the level of training and combat readiness of the staff from the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion and the Military training base from Bulboaca.

Minister Sturza inspected the military vehicles, the procedures of moving combat vehicles, service members’ personal protection equipment and their actions during different tactical situations.

At the end of the visit, the Minister of Defense stated that he is generally satisfied with the inspection’s results, but mentioned that there are some aspects that have to be improved. Thus, Eugen Sturza required the responsible departments to solve these issues as soon as possible.

This year, the National Army conducted 29 unannounced inspections in order to asses the military unit’s combat and mobilization readiness.
