Minister of Defense Meets with Ambassador of Germany in the Republic of Moldova
CHISINAU, May 4, 2018 — The Moldovan-German defense cooperation and the projects that are to be implemented by the armies of the two countries were discussed today by Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza and Ambassador of Germany in Chisinau, Julia Monar, during a meeting at the Ministry of Defense. Eugen Sturza said that Germany is a valuable partner for the Republic of Moldova and thanked the Ambassador for her country’s support in modernizing the National Army logistics sector through training programs and assistance. The Minister of Defense mentioned the support offered to our institution in developing the sector of transportation of dangerous goods under safe conditions and the training of Moldovan service members at courses held in Germany and Moldova. Minister Sturza also mentioned the provision of German expertise aimed to adjust the legal framework — development of the National Defense Strategy and Military Strategy — and the financial contribution for the recent evacuation of 60 tons of pesticides from ATU Gagauzia. Julia Monar said that Germany will continue to support the military institution’s reformation process and will support future projects including training and assistance. The Moldovan-German military cooperation has been established in March, 2003. |
