Military Topographers Celebrate Unit’s DayCHISINAU, May 25, 2018 — The staff of the National Army Topographic Center celebrated today the Unit’s Day with a ceremony attended by veterans, former commanders, and the unit’s military. National Army Commander, Brigadier General Igor Cutie, congratulated the unit’s staff and specified that, during these 26 years of activity, the military topographers carried out an impressive number of topo-geodesic and cartographic projects that led to the optimization of the national topographic system. During the ceremony, the unit’s military and civilian staff received diplomas. At the end of the event, the guests familiarized themselves with the Center’s specialized equipment (topographic, cartographic, printing) and the results of various implemented projects. The Military Topographic Center was founded on May 28, 1992. The unit’s mission is to supply the National Army General Staff, military units and institutions with maps and geospatial data, carry out field topographic measurements and insure topo-geodesic support of artillery troops.
