CHISINAU, June 12, 2018 — The General Inspection Directorate is organizing the training course “Building Integrity in Peace Support Operations” within June 12-15, 2018. The course is attended by service members from the Ministry of Defense, General Staff, and National Army units.

According to chief of the General Inspection Directorate, Col. Victor Pirtina, during this period, the 30 participants will study basic notions about personal and professional integrity and NATO’s anticorruption efforts within the current peacekeeping missions.

The source specified that the training is based on practical aspects consisting of scenarios that require the application of the gathered knowledge and is held by a team of NATO experts.

Col. Pirtina mentioned that the course’s objective is to train the staff on identifying and preventing potential corruption acts that could negatively affect the international peacekeeping missions.

The course “Building Integrity in Peace Support Operations” is part of NATO’s actions aimed to facilitate the understanding of corruption risks, their impact on defense institutions, and identification of practical actions oriented towards building integrity, increasing transparency, and improving responsibility in the defense sector.

The activity is part of the NATO Building Integrity Program in the defense and security sector and is organized for the second time in Chisinau with the support of NATO International Secretariat.
