National Army Service Members Continue Training at “Sea Breeze 2018”



CHISINAU, July 19, 2018 — The active stage of the multinational peacekeeping exercise “Sea Breeze 2018” involving military from 16 countries, including the Republic of Moldova, has started in Ukraine.

According to Commander of the Moldovan contingent, Maj. Grigore Adam, during July 17-19, the Moldovan officers and NCOs carried out missions at the mobile checkpoint, together with service members from the Ukrainian contingent.

Maj. Adam mentioned that, previously, the 80 service members, together with their colleagues from the USA and Ukraine, conducted shooting drills from the spot and from combat vehicles, drove HMMWVs and carried out helicopter parachute jumps at low heights. The Moldovan infantrymen also went to Tendra island in the Black Sea where they carried out actions of ship boarding and disembarking using their military vehicles.

This year, the Republic of Moldova participates in “Sea Breeze 2018” with 80 service members from “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, and the General Staff and 15 National Army vehicles.

The multinational peacekeeping exercise “Sea Breeze 2018” takes place in Ukraine within July 9-21, 2018 and brings together military from 16 countries.
