National Army Staff Trained on Public Procurement Management

CHISINAU, September 19, 2018 — The General Inspection Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GID) conducted today an Integrity in Procurement Workshop.

According to head of GID, Col. Victor Pirtina, during the activity, the staff responsible for public procurement was trained by representative of NATO Political Affairs and Security Policy Division Emmanuel Huntzinger.

The source added that the seminar focused on the ways of consolidating integrity in the defense sector’s procurement and is part of a series of actions undertaken by NATO in order to facilitate understanding regarding corruption risks, their impact, and the identification of practical actions aimed to build integrity, increase transparency, and enhance responsibility in the defense sector.

The activity is part of the NATO’s Building Integrity Program for the defense and security sector and was organized in Chisinau for the second time with the support of NATO International Secretariat.
