Soldiers from Balti Garrison Take Military OathCHISINAU, September 21, 2018 — The soldiers enlisted in “Moldova” Brigade took today the military oath during a ceremony held in Balti. The event was attended by representatives of the National Army Commanding Corps, local public authorities, soldiers’ parents and relatives. At the ceremony, Deputy Chief of General Staff for defense resources, Col. Mihail Buclis, congratulated the over 180 soldiers and asked them to be responsible, disciplined, and perseverant during the military service. Col. Buclis added that, starting with this year, the National Army is joined by professional military and encouraged the young soldiers to join the team of contract-based officers and NCOs at the end of their 12 months mandatory military service. The activity included wresting exercises, exhibitions of weapons, military equipment and vehicles. After taking the military oath, the soldiers get a four-day leave. The mandatory military service lasts 12 months.
