National Army Officers and NCOs at multinational exercise “Citadel 2018”

CHISINAU, September 27, 2018 — A contingent of National Army service members are participating in the multinational exercise “Citadel 2018” that is conducted in Sibiu, Romania, within September 24 — October 5, 2018.

According to LTC Oleg Chirilenco of Communication and Information Systems Directorate of the National Army General Staff, the exercise’s aim is to increase interoperability among participating forces, to maintain the joint training capabilities, to develop the security and international technologies capabilities, as well as to develop a regional environment that is favorable for multinational military cooperation.

The source specified that the Moldovan officers and NCOs, together with military from Bulgaria, Italy, and Romania, are training in order to test their abilities of monitoring, detection, and reaction to cyber attacks and are studying procedures of management and response to cyber security incidents.
