Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun” Marks 26th Anniversary



CHISINAU, October 6, 2018 — General State Secretary Radu Burduja awarded merit diplomas and military ranks to a group of military and civilian employees of the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF) on the occasion of the institution’s 26th anniversary and Teachers’ Day.

During the ceremony held on this occasion, Radu Burduja highlighted the academy’s contribution to the training of the officers corps who, by the way they are fulfilling their missions at home and abroad, are a model for the young people who choose a military career.

The General State Secretary also thanked the institution’s professors for their dedication, professionalism, and involvement in training valuable officers for the National Army.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the military students prepared for the guests — representatives of the Government, military attaches, chiefs of defense institution’s departments, professors, pupils, and students’ relatives — an artistic program and a presentation of wrestling exercises.

At the same time, the guests attending the ceremony at the Academy had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the institution’s infrastructure, endowment, and activity.

The program also included an exhibition of military vehicles, weapons, and ammunition, engineer and chemical protection equipments, communications equipment.

Within 1995-2018, the Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” educated over two thousand officers at specialties infantry, artillery, communications, border guard, and carabineer.

The length of studies at the MAAF is three years.
