Ministry of Defense Reforms Subordinating Institutions
CHISINAU, October 10, 2018 — The Cabinet of Ministers approved today the draft Government Decision “On the organization and functioning of the Agency for Ensuring Resources and Administration of Patrimony of the Ministry of Defense”.
The document was presented by Ministry of Defense Eugen Sturza and has been developed in the framework of the reform of public administration and concerns the reorganization through transformation of the Ministry of Defense’s Facilities Management Department into the Agency for Ensuring Resources and Administration of Patrimony.
According to the Government’s Decision, the Agency will be responsible for implementing the policy of ensuring National Army necessities; administrating the National Army patrimony; purchasing weaponry, ammunition, and military vehicles as required by the National Army; commercializing the impracticable stocks of military vehicles, weaponry, and other goods in compliance with the legislation in force; organizing protocol activities within Ministry of Defense; ensuring the military ceremonial activities of the President of the Republic of Moldova, President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, and Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.
Also today, the Government approved the organization and functioning of the Military Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense, administrative authority subordinating to the Ministry, based on the General Inspection Directorate, Preventive Medical Center, and Central Commission of Military Medical Expertise of the Armed Forces.
The establishment of the Military Inspectorate will concentrate and consolidate within one entity all the supervising and control functions of the Ministry. The Inspectorate will also organize and coordinate the activity of the Central Commission of Military Medical Expertise of the Armed Forces.
