National Army Service Members Trained on How to Prevent Corruption



CHISINAU, December 7, 2018 — The General Inspection Directorate (GID) is conducting training sessions regarding the corruption phenomenon, its dangers, and the consequences of being involved in actions of corruption.

According to chief of GID, Col. Victor Pirtina, the activities are organized in cooperation with National Anticorruption Center in the National Army units. During the sessions, the military and civilian staff is informed about the new normative framework regarding whistleblowers, in compliance with Law 122/2018.

The source specified that the training has the objective to inform and consolidate the National Army staff’s knowledge on the assessment of professional integrity, conflicts of interest, whistleblowers’ protection, the legal framework of gifts, liability for corruption acts, connected acts and corrupt behavior.

The training is organized on the occasion of International Anticorruption Day that is marked yearly on December 9 and is part of the Action Plan regarding the implementation of the National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy for 2017-2020, as well as the Action Plan on reducing the risk of corruption within the Ministry of Defense for 2018-2019.
