Infantrymen of “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade – National Army Champions at Athletics Championship

CHISINAU, March 27, 2019 — The team of “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade has won the National Army Athletics Championship Cup, organized at Valea Morilor Park from Chisinau.

The second place has been won by the service members of Special Forces Battalion “Fulger”, while the peacekeepers of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion have won the third place.

According to chief of Physical Training and Sports Department of the Doctrine and Joint Training Directorate, Col. Vasile Olednic, the competition was attended by about 80 service members from all National Army units.

The participants have been divided into 13 teams and competed in 3,000 m, 5,000 and 10,000 m distance running.

The championship is held yearly and aims to improve the service members’ physical skills and to promote the team spirit.
