Republic of Moldova Appoints a Military Attaché to Canada for the First Time
Chisinau, April 17, 2019 — Military attaché of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America, Col. Vitalie Micov, has been also accredited to Canada.
The ceremony organized on this occasion at the Department of National Defense (DND) from Ottawa has been attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Canada, Ala Beleavschi, and Director of Foreign Liaison Office of DND, Col. Acton Kilby.
According to his competence, Col. Vitalie Micov will be responsible for ensuring an efficient cooperation between the defense institutions of the two nations and identification of new opportunities aimed to develop and enhance the partnership between the National Army of the Republic of Moldova and the Canadian Armed Forces.
While in Ottawa, the military diplomat has met with a series of officials of the DND with the goal of identifying new cooperation projects between the two defense institutions for the continuation of the reforms started by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry of Defense appointed Col. Vitalie Micov as military attaché to the USA in October 2018. The institution’s leadership took this decision having the objective of promoting the strategic defense dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the USA.
