National Security and Defense Postgraduate Course is Over
CHISINAU, April 19, 2019 — The graduates of the National Security and Defense Postgraduate Course “Current issues of national security” received today their diplomas during a ceremony held at Military Academy of Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” (MAAF).
State Secretary Vladimir Iliev congratulated the 21 representatives of religious denominations from the Republic of Moldova, of Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Education, Culture and Research, Finances, of the State Protection and Guard Service and civil society and offered them their badges of graduation.
Vladimir Iliev mentioned that, currently, there is a need for professionals who are able to find the most appropriate solutions to the new challenges of the security environment and expressed the hope that the military and civilian representatives who, during four months, have attended the course had the opportunity to analyze and identify the solutions to the issues regarding the country’s security and defense sector.
According to prorector of MAAF, LTC (r) Igor Sofronescu, the studies had the objective to familiarize the public servants and service members from the central departments of military command with the national security’s current issues and to train them for leading positions within institutions responsible for national defense and security.
The source specified that the course included subjects related to military-political systems and doctrines, good governance and strategic leadership, national and international security, information warfare, international humanitarian law, civilian-military relations, and other relevant themes.
Igor Sofronescu added that, during the course, the participants have paid familiarization visits to central public authorities, military units of force structures, and strategic importance facilities of our country.
This is the sixth edition of the Postgraduate course on national defense and security entitled “Current issues of national security”.
