General State Secretary’s Bilateral Meetings in Brussels



CHISINAU, June 10, 2019 — During his visit to Brussels, General State Secretary, Radu Burduja, has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Romania to NATO, Stelian Stoian, with Director of Defense Institution and Capacity Building, Operations Division, Marc Di Paolo, and with Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, Antonio Missiroli.

The talks regarded the defense and security sector’s reformation, PARP at national level and its achievements, participation of the Republic of Moldova in international efforts aimed at building international security, contribution to assistance projects, programs, and initiatives in the area of defense, especially the Defence Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI), Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC), Building Integrity (BI), and their role in National Army’s professionalization and transformation.

The talks also focused on the provisions of the Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme and the means of cooperation offered by it, the assessment of the current stage of SPS implementation in the Republic of Moldova, and identification of new opportunities for expanding cooperation in this area.

Last week, General State Secretary, Radu Burduja paid a visit to Brussels in order to attend the PARP consultations “29 + Republic of Moldova” in the framework of the meeting of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee (PCSC) organized at NATO Headquarters.

During the activity, Radu Burduja has presented the achievements of PARP implementation in the Republic of Moldova, the results of the defense and security sector’s reformation, and, in this context, the role of the strategic documents that have been developed together with NATO experts.
