The service members from "Dacia" Brigade – Champions at "Military Patrol"

CHISINAU, August 30, 2019 - The team of the "Dacia" Brigade in Cahul obtained the first place at this year`s edition of the "Military Patrol" competition, a sporting event organized annually by the Ministry of Defense. The second and third place were given to the students of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun" and, respectively, to the soldiers of the Special Battalion " Fulger".

Attending the award ceremony, the commander of the National Army, brigadier general Igor Gorgan, handed out the Winners` Cup, noting that physical training is an important element of military training.

" I want to congratulate the winners of the "Military Patrol" in this edition - I understand that it was difficult, especially in these days of heat. I hope you stay as good as other sporting events we organize in the army. I wish all the best to military from other teams and urge them to train every day and persevere. In sport, as in other fields, discipline, ambition and courage are needed, " said General Gorgan.

According to the head of the physical training and sports section of the Training and Doctrine Directorate, Colonel Vasile Olednic, this year participated 16 teams from 12 units of the National Army.

The military has competed in several trials, including combat shootings from infantry armament, field orientation, crossing the runway with obstacles, throwing hand grenades and passing the contaminated sector.
