Minister Voicu and Ambassador Zdaniuk discuss Moldovan-Polish cooperation in defense



CHISINAU, September 20, 2019 - Minister of Defense Pavel Voicu and Polish Ambassador to Moldova Bartlomiej Zdaniuk discussed today sectoral reform, bilateral cooperation and other topics of common interest at a meeting at the Ministry of Defense.

Pavel Voicu briefed the Polish ambassador on the defense reform agenda, with an emphasis on professionalizing the National Army, increasing participation in peacekeeping operations and deepening dialogue with external partners.

During the meeting, the Minister of Defense emphasized the contribution of the Polish Government in the NATO/PpP Project on the Destruction of Pesticides and Dangerous Chemicals in the Republic of Moldova and thanked for scholarships offered to the National Army in Polish institutions.

For his part, Bartlomiej Zdaniuk mentioned that Poland supports the reform of the defense institution and is ready to provide the necessary assistance to the National Army for its realization.

Moldovan-Polish military cooperation began in 1998.
