NATO experts visit Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy



CHISINAU, May 12, 2011 — A group of NATO experts visited during May 10-11 Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces.

Experts from France and the USA appraised the activities carried out by the work group of the military academy in term of implementation of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) and development of curricula for basic and Master’s degree studies.

The Military Academy Commander, Col. Mihail Buclis stated experts had highly appreciated the work group results. They claimed the national institution of military education meets all the requirements to start the academic year on September 1, 2011, in compliance with the new concepts. The Military Academy leadership has currently developed and approved the curricula for the basic and Master’s degree studies in joint cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Col. Buclis said.

While at the Military Academy, NATO experts met with Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic, Chief of National Army Main Staff, National Army Commander. He pointed out their goal is to make the Military Academy become a scientific center of security and defense studies in the Republic of Moldova. This process needs time and huge resource to develop capabilities of scientific analysis and investigation in the defense area.

The Military Academy prepares high-skilled officers with a focus on such specialties as: infantry, artillery, communications, carabineer and border guard service.
