National Army military on duty in Kosovo`s KFOR operation



Chisinau, January 27, 2020 — The 12th contingent of the National Army, which is located in Kosovo, carried out several activities specific to the KFOR operation during December-January.

According to the contingent commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Ion Cozaru, the Moldovan military, along with those from Slovenia and Italy, participated in theoretical and practical sessions during the mandatory training at the beginning of the mission, including in the crowd control compartment (phobia thread).

Subsequently, the 41 NCO were involved in guarding and defending the objectives of special importance, including the Decane Monastery, for the recognition and presence of the force in the area of ​​responsibility of the Western — Regional Command and patrolling the area.

At the same time, the group of geniuses carried out missions of recognition and genistic research of the landing areas of the helicopters and the itineraries of troops.

The KFOR-12 contingent left for Kosovo in December 2019 and will be there until June.

The contingent consists of 41 professional military personnel, of which seven engineers, a platoon of 33 infantrymen and a chief of staff.
