KFOR-12 National Army Soldiers: "Only together will we be able to fight this virus" (video)



CHISINAU, March 18, 2020 — The National Army from the 12th contingent deployed to the peacekeeping operation KFOR in Kosovo, continue to carry out missions in the area of responsibility.

According to the contingent’s Commander, LTC (Lieutenant-Colonel) Ion Cozaru, the Moldovan military is conducting patrol activities in the region, guarding strategic objectives, service at checkpoints and passing points, as well as EOD research of the territory.

Lieutenant-Colonel Cozaru added that at the request of the upper echelon of the Regional Command - West, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, military deployed at the multinational base Camp Villaggio Italia comply with all sanitary and sanitation rules while on duty or in service.

The source mentioned that the moral-psychological condition of the subordinate force is good, the military activating according to the established plan. "Even if we are on duty away from home, we are worried about the pandemic facing a whole world, including the Republic of Moldova. We are well, and we pass on to our loved ones to be responsible and to strictly respect the requirements of the specialists. Only together we will be able to fight this virus ", said Ion Cozaru in his message addressed to the Moldovan citizens.

The KFOR-12 contingent consists of 41 professional military personnel, including seven engineers, a platoon of 33 infantrymen and a chief of staff. The KFOR-12 contingent left for Kosovo in December 2019 and will be there until June.
